WHO ARE WE?
“He who passively accepts evil is as much involved in it as he who helps to perpetrate it. He who accepts evil without protesting against it is really cooprating with it.” – MLK Jr, 1963
FLINT ACTIVIST
Our founder was an employee of the State of Michigan, Department of Health and Human Services, intermittently from August 2010 until February 2018. She was a clerical worker/customer service representative, tasked with assisting clients via online, telephone and in-person contact. She witnessed the appalling treatment of MDHHS clients by caseworkers, and also the effort to block our clients from filing complaints. Because of local media’s total failure to cover this story. This information is being made public. The goal of this website is to take a look into this matter.
MDHHS
The following is foundation upon which local offices are
supposed to operate:
- Mission: MDHHS provides services and administers programs to improve the health, safety, and prosperity of the residents of the State of Michigan.
- Vision: Deliver health and opportunity to all Michiganders, reducing intergenerational poverty and promoting health equity.
- Values: Human Dignity, show empathy, kindess and respect for those we serve and for one another.
- Opportunity: Offer all residents, regardless of background, tools to realize their potential.
- Perseverance: Meet needs and solve problems with innovation and grit.
- Ease: Simplify everythingwe do as much as possible.
"Honesty is for the most part less profitable than dishonesty..."
Sounds Reasonable Right?>>>>>>
Flint residents would find this laughable; except that going without benefits is what continues to make our town poorer, sicker and without hope. Management at the office absolutely enabled the worst possible behavior by crafting local office policies that were as ridiculous as they were self-serving. The goal of management was to look good on paper; so they could tackle “pilot projects” and receive performance bonuses. Their worst policy had the effect of preventing clients from complaining to Lansing. Flint looks pretty amazing….on paper.
The sounds pretty unbelievable to anyone who has not experienced it first hand; and complete fact to anyone whom has.
This site is a collection of the massive failure in getting anyone to listen to to Flint residents about how they’ve been neglected. If you can help please us a direct message below or feel free to also reach out to us by email at [email protected]
